Nick "Kappy" Kapusniak

A memorial on the St. Louis College of Pharmacy campus along with a close-up of Kappy's obelisk.

Nicholas Kapusniak was a 20 year old student at the St. Louis College of Pharmacy. He was killed on March 1, 2014 in a senseless act of violence as a drive-by shooter randomly fired gunshots into a crowd of pharmacy students.

Nick grew up in Webster, NY, just outside of Rochester. His Dad, Rich, worked at Kodak. His Mom, Renee, worked at the Webster Public Library, and taught at Holy Trinity, where Nick and his sister, Amanda, went to school.  Nick was a member in AZO Pharmaceutical Fraternity

Nick is greatly loved and missed by everyone who knew him - his family, his many friends, his colleagues, his professors, and his brothers in AZO.  He had a tremendously generous spirit. Kappy's Kampaign was started in his memory as a way to give back.  Its signature event is the Nick K 5K race.

We walk, we run, we pray, TO STOP THE VIOLENCE.

The Nick K 5K is a national event with two races held annually in Rochester, NY, and St. Louis, MO.  The races are held in late summer/early fall.  Colleagues of Nick's from the pharmacy profession as well as academia have a strong presence at each race, and the sponsors of the race are both local and national companies.  Check back here or follow Kappy's Campaign on Facebook or Twitter for details of this year's races.
